Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a seasoned senior accountant to lead month-end close, manage cash flow and forecasting, and supervise finance staff in a dynamic commercial environment. You will prepare management reporting packs, analyze variances, and support budgeting and budgeting processes.

The role emphasizes strengthening cash management, improving working capital, and driving efficiency across the finance function in a South African manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of strong all-round accounting experience within a commercial environment.
• Experience managing cash flow, working capital and forecasting.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts, and profitability reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and competing priorities.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, production, distribution environments - advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, and management accounts.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for management.
• Manage and forecast cash flow requirements, ensuring operational funding requirements are proactively planned.
• Oversee debtors and creditors functions, ensuring the impact on cash flow and working capital is properly managed.
• Analyse working capital movements and provide meaningful recommendations to improve cash management.
• Prepare and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and profitability projections.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide detailed variance analysis.
• Manage daily banking activities, cashbook control, and treasury-related processes.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to junior finance staff where required.
• Identify process improvements and drive efficiencies within the finance department.
