Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking a senior finance professional in Cape Town to own month-end processes, manage cash flow forecasting, and oversee debtors and creditors to protect working capital.

You will prepare budgets, forecasts, and profitability reports, monitor performance against plans, and provide variance analysis. Leadership of junior staff and driving finance process improvements are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a commercial environment.
• Experience managing cash flow, working capital and forecasting.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and profitability reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and priorities.
• Experience in manufacturing/FMCG/production/distribution advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, and management accounts.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for management.
• Manage and forecast cash flow requirements, ensuring operational funding requirements are proactively planned.
• Oversee debtors and creditors functions, ensuring the impact on cash flow and working capital is properly managed.
• Analyse working capital movements and provide meaningful recommendations to improve cash management.
• Prepare and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and profitability projections.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide detailed variance analysis.
• Manage daily banking activities, cashbook control, and treasury-related processes.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to junior finance staff where required.
• Identify process improvements and drive efficiencies within the finance department.
