Job summary

Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Field Telecom Technician to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment at customer sites across the region. You will travel to sites, diagnose issues, and ensure reliable connectivity with a strong emphasis on safety and service quality.

The role requires a high school diploma (tech cert a plus) and proven field experience; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• Field telecom experience preferred with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and fiber optic cables.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure in the field.
• Respond promptly to service calls and resolve technical issues to meet service level agreements.
• Ensure all installations and repairs are completed to the highest quality standards and safety regulations.
• Document all work performed, including service reports and inventory updates.
• Provide basic technical support and training to end-users on equipment functionality.
