Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Field Technician to join our team serving the George area. You will install, maintain, and repair telecom equipment at customer sites, ensuring seamless connectivity and dependable service delivery.

Work will involve fiber optic, routers, switches, and VoIP systems, with emphasis on safety, accuracy in reporting, and providing clear customer guidance. A driver’s license and independent field work are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical certification is a plus.
• Experience as a Field Technician or in a similar telecom role.
• Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Familiarity with fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems including fiber, routers, switches, and VoIP.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure.
• Respond to service calls and resolve issues efficiently.
• Educate customers on use of services and equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work and inventory logs.
