Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to join their fully remote team, providing on-site telecommunications installations and maintenance across East London. You will travel to customer sites to install, repair and maintain equipment, acting as the face of the company and ensuring high-quality service.

The role requires hands-on experience with modems, routers and VoIP devices, knowledge of broadband tech (DSL, Cable, Fiber), and strong troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar technical role.
• Hands-on experience with telecom equipment (modems, routers, VoIP phones).
• Understanding of broadband technologies (DSL, Cable, Fiber) and networking principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for on-site visits.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test customer premise equipment (CPE) for internet and voice services.
• Diagnose and repair faults in telecommunications lines and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure components.
• Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer requirements.
• Provide clear explanations and basic training to customers on service usage.
• Document all service activities, including work performed and parts used, using a mobile application.
