Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and test a wide range of security systems, including alarm panels, CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR units, and access control devices. Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on installed systems to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing prompt and effective repair solutions for hardware and software malformations. Respond to emergency service calls and resolve system failures with a sense of urgency. Document all service activities, including installation details, maintenance logs, and repair reports, using company-provided software. Provide technical support and basic training to clients on the operation of their security systems. Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards during site visits and service calls in Midrand . Collaborate with the internal technical support team and sales representatives to ensure seamless project delivery and client communication. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring readiness for service calls.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role, preferably within the security industry. Strong understanding of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electronic and mechanical faults. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record for travel within Gauteng . Technical qualification or certification in electronics, security systems, or a related field is highly advantageous.
