Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a skilled tradesperson for electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair. The role involves traveling to various sites, working with specialized tooling, and adhering to safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has a Trade Test or Technical Qualification (NQF 5) and a minimum of five years related experience, with strong problem-solving skills and fault-finding abilities under varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with regards to troubleshooting and problem solving electrical and mechanical problems.

Responsibilities

• Detects mechanical and electrical faults by using specialized tooling and equipment.
• Repairs and maintains components and equipment.
• Follows work assignments received in the form of general oral or written work instructions.
• Determines the extent of the needed repair and determines the nature thereof.
• Performs checks and services on a regular basis and detects possible faults and flaws on affected equipment.
• Repairs and/or replaces and fits new sections or new parts.
• Improvises necessary solutions as and when needed.
• Travels from one site to another, often in remote areas and at unusual work hours.
• Works with specialized equipment in order to perform daily duty requirements.
• Maintains a good level of physical health and fitness.
• Maintains a legal vehicle drivers license at all times.
• Adheres to all health and safety legislation.
• Assists spare parts with part identification.
• Assists and supports the other Company divisions if and where required.
