Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Mechanical Engineer for its Upington operations. This on-site role provides technical support, installation, commissioning, and maintenance at client sites across the region.

You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and train customers on equipment operation. Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience as Field Service Engineer or Mechanical Technician.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service industrial mechanical equipment at client sites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, implementing timely repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive care for machinery.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Conduct site assessments and recommend improvements for mechanical systems.
• Ensure safety regulations and company standards are met.
