Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Electrical Engineer to support clients in the Paarl, Western Cape region. You will provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for electrical systems and equipment, traveling extensively as needed.

The role demands hands-on problem-solving, strong communication with clients, and the ability to manage a service schedule independently. A relevant electrical engineering qualification and 4+ years of field service experience are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years in field service or technical support for industrial equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Paarl region and nationally.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of equipment.
• Install, commission, and test new electrical systems and components.
• Conduct customer training on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Generate detailed service reports with findings and recommendations.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring proper usage and care.
• Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to provide feedback on product performance and issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures during site visits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through professional service.
