Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Electrical) for on-site work in Paarl, Western Cape, with extensive regional travel. You will install, commission, service, and repair complex electrical systems, and train customer staff to operate and maintain equipment.

The role requires a Diploma/BE in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of field service experience, strong diagnostics, PLC/control know-how, and excellent communication for customer support.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in field service, maintenance, or repair of industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and manuals.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Commission new installations to meet specs and performance standards.
• Provide technical training to customer personnel on operation and maintenance.
• Document service activities, parts used, and time spent accurately.
• Travel to customer sites and respond promptly to service calls.
