Job summary

Kontak External Sales Representative – Multi‑Sector Lubricants is based in Alberton / Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves managing and expanding our customer base across multiple commercial and industrial sectors, representing Shell and Valvoline, and selling into agriculture, mining, manufacturing, transport, construction and power engineering.

You will spend the majority of each working day visiting customers throughout Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Valid Code 8 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
• Willing to travel daily throughout Gauteng, especially Alberton, Pretoria and East Gauteng.
• At least two years’ external sales experience.
• Direct sales experience within the oil, lubricant or grease industry is essential.
• Sound technical knowledge of lubricants and their applications.
• Experience selling into agriculture, mining, industrial, manufacturing, transport, construction or power engineering.
• Proven ability to secure new business and grow existing portfolios.
• Strong hunter-sales mentality with solid account-management skills.
• Ability to conduct technical product presentations and provide guidance.
• Highly self-motivated and able to operate independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an allocated customer portfolio across multiple sectors.
• Identify and secure new business within targeted industries.
• Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits throughout Gauteng.
• Develop effective sales routes and appointment schedules.
• Promote and sell Shell, Valvoline and other oils and related products.
• Assess customer operations and recommend suitable products.
• Provide technical product presentations and application guidance.
• Grow existing accounts and achieve sales targets.
• Maintain contact with customers and drive repeat business.
• Coordinate pricing, promotions, stock availability and product updates.
