About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on Field Production Engineer to support their operations in Mahikeng . This role is dedicated to optimizing the production of oil and gas from existing wells and facilities, ensuring efficient and safe operations. You will be responsible for monitoring well performance, diagnosing production issues, and implementing solutions to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. The successful candidate will work closely with field operations teams, contributing directly to the operational success of the company in the North West province within the demanding Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze production data from wells and facilities to identify performance trends and issues.
Diagnose and troubleshoot production problems, including artificial lift system failures, sand production, and flow assurance issues.
Design and implement production enhancement projects, such as artificial lift installations or workovers.
Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to ensure production strategies align with reservoir management objectives.
Develop and manage operational procedures and safety protocols for field production activities.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company HSE policies during all production operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in field production engineering , preferably in the upstream Oil & Gas sector .
Hands-on experience with artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, SRPs, gas lift) and production optimization techniques.
Familiarity with production logging tools and interpretation.
Strong understanding of wellbore hydraulics, fluid flow, and thermodynamics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a field environment.
