Job summary

Kontak Recruitment is seeking a Packaging Specialist in Kempton Park to drive new business in industrial B2B sales. The role is field-based, focusing on identifying prospects, conducting on-site trials, and converting opportunities into long-term supply contracts.

You'll work with manufacturers and logistics partners, travel across Gauteng, and manage a growing portfolio of accounts while demonstrating cost-saving packaging solutions and value to customers.

Qualifications

• Matric is required; sales qualification is advantageous.
• 3–10 years’ experience in industrial B2B sales and proven track record.
• Experience in packaging, plastics, industrial consumables, warehousing equipment, logistics packaging or palletising systems is relevant.
• Willingness to travel and spend significant time on the road.
• Honest, reliable, professional with a self-driven hunter mindset.
• Able to communicate cost-saving calculations to customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential industrial customers.
• Generate new business through cold prospecting.
• Build relationships with key decision-makers.
• Arrange and conduct on-site pallet wrapping trials.
• Demonstrate how the product can reduce plastic usage and cost per pallet.
• Calculate and communicate potential customer savings.
• Convert successful trials into long-term supply contracts.
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
• Develop long-term relationships with customers.
• Train customer staff on effective wrapping techniques.
• Manage ongoing customer supply requirements.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Travel throughout Gauteng and surrounding provinces, with occasional travel elsewhere in South Africa.
• Attend multi-day trials where required, including occasional overnight stays.
