Job summary

Implats in Rustenburg is seeking an assistant to the Serviceman to assist with the installation and maintenance of mining machinery and equipment at the business unit. You will work under direct supervision and help ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include PPE and tool checks, hazard reporting and corrective action, routine maintenance, housekeeping, and supporting safety and change initiatives to reduce costs and improve productivity.

Qualifications

• Performs routine maintenance on specified equipment.
• Assists with installation and maintenance activities under supervision.
• Supports safety practices and hazard reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and maintenance of machinery under supervision.
• Check availability and utilisation of PPE, specialized tools and equipment.
• Regularly examine environmental conditions and report hazards.
• Perform routine maintenance on specified equipment under supervision.
• Maintain high housekeeping at installation sites.
• Support change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimisation.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships and implement remedial actions.
• Provide relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
• Adhere to safety regulations and mine standards and report non-compliance.
• Participate in safety meetings and make recommendations to improve safety.
• Report hazards and ensure a hazard-free environment.
