Job summary

Vox Telecommunications in South Africa seeks an Engineer – Voice/Data/Wireless Services to install and maintain voice, data and wireless services for Vox customers. This field-based role requires hands-on ability and a commitment to high workmanship.

You will install FttH/FttB routers, WiFi APs, wireless equipment (Tarana, Comsol, satellite), support 3CX voice solutions, conduct site surveys, and deliver clear reports while coordinating with teams across regions.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in VoIP installations and maintenance.
• 2 years' experience in data installations and maintenance (ADSL, MPLS, VPN, firewalls).
• 2 years' working knowledge of GSM, VoIP, data and customer service management.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain FttH and FttB routers
• Install WiFi access points
• Install and maintain wireless equipment including Comsol, satellite and Tarana
• Install, configure and support 3CX voice solutions
• Conduct site surveys and use power tools safely
• Use testing equipment for commissioning and maintenance
• Manage customer requirements and resolve queries through to completion
• Coordinate with other departments to address queries
• Deliver accurate reports to a high standard
• Communicate effectively and work as part of a team
• Participate in National Standby rotation for after-hours support
• Work after hours and weekends when required
