Job summary

NxaTel invites applications for a Field Technician Intern based in Pretoria, offering hands-on experience in VoIP systems, networking, and customer training as part of our Service Delivery team.

This internship (3–6 months, with potential for extension) provides real-world exposure and mentorship from senior technicians, with opportunities to convert to full-time employment upon completion.

Qualifications

• Studying or recently completed a qualification in IT, Networking, or Telecommunications.
• Basic understanding of networking principles, IP addressing, and VoIP.
• Willingness to work in the field and travel to client sites.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under supervision.
• Valid driver’s license or learner’s permit (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site installations of VoIP, LTE, and fibre solutions.
• Configure routers, SIP devices, and customer equipment under supervision.
• Perform site assessments and document installation details accurately.
• Support customers with onboarding and product demonstrations.
• Report faults and assist in troubleshooting on-site or remotely.
• Maintain proper stock, tools, and job cards for each installation.
• Collaborate with the Support and Billing teams to close installation tickets.
