Job summary

Forvia Port Elizabeth invites applications for a FES & Productivity Graduate position. The 12-month contract focuses on implementing standards, performance measures and lean practices within a manufacturing setting.

You will support FES Deployment in Production, assist with Kanban rollout and contribute to continuous improvement projects while developing industrial engineering skills.

Qualifications

  • 3 year National Diploma or BEng/ Tech/BSc in Industrial Engineering.
  • Computer literacy at Intermediate level essential.
  • Sound understanding of Work Study Principles and Work Measurement Tools.
  • Detail oriented with analytical abilities and a structured, methodological approach; dynamic and proactive.
  • Age 18-35.
  • Never registered with the YES Youth Program before.

Responsibilities

  • Set up standards and implement performance measures.
  • Maintain site layouts and warehouse layouts with updates.
  • Analyze and improve key business processes, work measurement, and layout.
  • Prepare feasibility reports with structured data presentations.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering principles, lean methods, and FES principles.
  • Increase operating efficiencies and identify cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide planning and tracking support.
  • Assist FES Deployment in Production.
  • Support FES&P in Kanban pull system launch and rollout.

Your Mission, Roles And Responsibilities


  • Experience in setting up standards and implementing the required performance measures.

  • Maintain site layouts, operational warehouse layouts to remain current and updated with all new changes to ensure sound work practices.

  • Analysing and improving key business processes, work measurement, operational design and layout

  • Feasibility studies which include data gathering and presenting the data to management in a well-structured report and presentation.

  • Application of Industrial Engineering principles, lean methods and techniques & FES Principles

  • Increase operating efficiencies and achieve potential costs saving initiatives.

  • Provide implementing planning and tracking support.

  • To support FES Deployment in Production.

  • To support FES &P in launch & roll out Kanban pull systems.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have/be


  • 3 year National Diploma or BEng/ Tech/BSc in Industrial Engineering

  • Computer literacy at Intermediate level essential

  • Have a sound understanding of Work Study Principles and Work Measurement Tools

  • A detail orientated person with analytical abilities and a structured and methodological way Dynamic and proactive behaviour

  • Age between 18-35

  • Never been registered with the Y.E.S Youth Program before
