Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a dynamic Farm Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day activities at its Welkom-area farming facilities. You will lead staff, plan planting to harvest, and ensure safety and environmental compliance while optimizing resources.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Agriculture or Farm Management and at least 5 years of senior farm experience. You will manage budgets, machinery, and field operations with focus on profitability and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Farm Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in farm management or senior operations.
• Strong knowledge of crop production, soil and pest control.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise farm workers with scheduling, training, and evaluation.
• Oversee crop cultivation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control and harvest.
• Develop and manage the farm's annual budget for cost-effective operations.
• Maintain farm machinery, equipment and infrastructure.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental policies on the farm.
