Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Operations Manager to lead extensive farming activities in Paarl, Western Cape. You will drive day-to-day farm operations, manage budgets, supervise teams, and implement best practices to hit production targets while upholding quality and sustainability.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a track record of optimizing large-scale agricultural production across diverse crops.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Management, or a related field.
At least 7 years of experience in agricultural management with significant operational responsibility.
Demonstrated success in managing large agricultural operations and teams.
Strong understanding of crop production cycles, agronomy, and agricultural economics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in agricultural software and management tools.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
Lead, motivate, and manage farm labor, including supervisors and seasonal workers.
Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies on the farm.
Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor crop yields, quality, and market trends to inform strategic planning.
Ensure efficient use of resources such as water, machinery, and inputs.
