Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Farm Mechanic and Maintenance Technician to join operations in Klerksdorp. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently on our agricultural sites.

The role requires diesel engine knowledge, ability to read schematics, and proactive problem-solving for smooth farming operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic or technician in agriculture or heavy machinery.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, plows, and irrigation systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures in farm equipment.
• Maintain and service vehicles and other essential farm equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance standards.
• Keep accurate maintenance records.
• Assist with installation and setup of new farm equipment.
