Placements24 in Rustenburg, North West, is seeking a compassionate Family Support Officer to work with families and children in the local community. You will provide in-home support, conduct needs assessments, and develop tailored plans.

The role requires a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Child and Youth Care, at least 3 years’ direct experience, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license for community-based visits.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working directly with families in a support role.
• Thorough knowledge of child protection legislation and best practices.
• Understanding of the local social landscape and resources in Rustenburg.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and active listening skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse family groups.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in relevant IT systems.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for community-based work.

Responsibilities
