Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent
• Registered with SACSSP
• 3+ years of experience with families and children in social work
• Experience in case management, counseling and crisis intervention
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and family support frameworks in SA
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
• Access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Resilience in emotionally demanding situations

About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled Family Support Social Worker to join their team in George, Western Cape . You will work closely with families, connecting them with resources, providing counseling, and advocating for their needs within the community. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of family needs and risks, developing tailored support plans.
• Provide individual, couple, and family counseling to address psychosocial issues.
• Facilitate referrals to relevant community services, such as healthcare, education, and legal aid.
• Develop and deliver workshops and programs focused on parenting skills, conflict resolution, and family budgeting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• At least 3 years of experience working directly with families and children in a social work capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in case management, counseling, and crisis intervention.
• Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and family support frameworks in South Africa .
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in using standard office software and case management systems.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Resilience and the ability to manage emotionally demanding situations.
