Placements24 is seeking a versatile Facilities Maintenance Technician to support operations in Bloemfontein. You will maintain buildings, grounds, and essential services to ensure a safe and productive environment for staff and visitors.

The role requires broad knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, plus the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or similar general maintenance role.
• Broad knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Physical fitness to perform manual tasks in varying environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on building systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies and address issues efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs.
• Oversee and coordinate with external contractors when specialized services are required.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment and ensure readiness.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and codes.
