Job summary

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Management, Food & Beverage Management or related field advantageous
• 3–5 years’ experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or restaurant operations
• Previous management experience overseeing operations, staff and performance
• Strong commercial awareness with understanding of revenue generation, budgeting, cost control and profitability
• Knowledge of F&B operations, stock management, purchasing and supplier coordination
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams while maintaining high standards
• Strong financial and analytical skills with ability to monitor performance and implement improvements
• Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as required

Responsibilities

• Oversee all food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless service and high-quality guest experience
• Drive revenue growth and profitability through strategic planning, sales initiatives and cost management
• Monitor financial performance including revenue, expenditure and budgets; implement corrective actions
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve performance and maximise trading opportunities
• Manage staffing requirements including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Lead, coach and develop the team, fostering accountability and service excellence
• Control stock and inventory, including purchasing, rotation, stock takes and wastage reduction
• Ensure financial controls, including cash-ups, POS reconciliation and compliance with procedures
• Maintain guest service standards, handle complaints and resolve operational challenges
• Ensure food quality, presentation and service standards with Kitchen and service teams
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to strengthen market position
• Develop and implement promotions, events and sales initiatives to attract customers and increase revenue
• Prepare for peak periods with appropriate staffing, stock and resources
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and upkeep in guest areas and facilities
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene and employment practices
• Report on business performance and operational challenges with recommendations to senior management
