Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking an Automotive Performance Specialist to join a premier high-performance workshop. You will modify, tune, and optimize vehicle performance to meet clients’ requirements, focusing on power output, handling, and drivability, with a deep passion for motorsport.

You will work on a wide array of performance vehicles, using a state-of-the-art dyno facility and advanced tuning software.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience as Automotive Performance Specialist or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of engine management systems, fuel injection, and forced induction technologies.
Proficiency with engine tuning software and dyno operation.
Understanding of chassis dynamics and aerodynamics.

Responsibilities

Tune and optimize engine control units (ECUs) for performance vehicles, enhancing power and efficiency.
Install and calibrate performance-enhancing components such as turbochargers, exhaust systems, and suspension upgrades.
Conduct dyno testing and analysis to measure performance metrics and validate modifications.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to engine performance, drivability, and handling.
Advise clients on suitable performance upgrades based on needs and vehicle type.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the automotive performance sector.
