Placements24 is seeking an ambitious Executive Sous Chef for a renowned Polokwane fine dining establishment and exclusive events caterer. You will work with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, lead a talented team, and ensure top-tier food preparation and presentation for both restaurant service and prestigious events.

The role requires strong leadership, mastery of classical and contemporary techniques, and a passion for quality ingredients.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years progressive culinary experience with 2–3 years as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Experience in fine dining or high-volume catering.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in food costing and inventory control.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Culinary qualification from a recognized institution preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in kitchen management for restaurant and events.
• Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Oversee inventory, food purchasing, and receiving.
• Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen.
• Contribute to menu development and specials.
• Ensure efficient workflow during peak services.
• Depose for Head Chef as needed.
• Stay updated on culinary trends.
