Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Power Plant Operations Manager to oversee the safe, efficient operation of a major facility in Benoni, Gauteng. You will manage a team of operators and technicians, implement operational strategies, and drive uptime and reliability to meet energy demand.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in power plant operations with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity, a relevant engineering degree, and a strong track record in safety, environmental compliance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in power plant operations with 3+ years in management.
• Experience with multiple generation technologies (thermal, renewable).
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental compliance, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the power plant, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production targets.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response plans.
• Oversee and mentor a team of plant operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Manage plant maintenance schedules in coordination with the maintenance department to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements.
