Executive & Operations Assistant - South Africa | Competitive Salary + Benefits
GAP Talent is representing a London-based venture capital firm on a permanent Executive & Operations Assistant opportunity within its growing operation.
The firm invests in fintech and financial infrastructure across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America and is establishing its operating base in Cape Town ahead of its second fund.
This is the first operations hire in the South Africa office, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Managing Partner and Finance Manager in a small, fast-moving investment environment.
The role is primarily focused on executive support, with approximately two thirds of the position dedicated to managing the Managing Partner's diary, international travel, meetings and investor logistics. The remainder involves finance, bookkeeping and company-secretarial administration.

- Responsibility for planning and coordinating multi-city international travel, including flights, hotels, visas and ground transport
- Exposure to investor onboarding, KYC/AML documentation, investor events and investor relationship administration
- Responsibility for maintaining the investor pipeline and coordinating follow-ups
- Finance responsibilities including supplier invoices, expense claims, corporate card reconciliations and payment run preparation
- Support with company-secretarial administration, statutory deadlines and corporate records
- Opportunity to take ownership of wider operational projects as the Cape Town office develops
- Strong exposure to senior stakeholders within an international investment environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or similar role supporting a Founder, Managing Partner, Partner or C-suite executive
- Strong experience managing complex diaries, meetings and international travel
- Experience working across multiple international time zones
- Previous exposure to invoices, expenses, bookkeeping or finance administration
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around numbers, dates and documentation
- Comfortable handling confidential and commercially sensitive information
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate professionally with senior stakeholders and investors
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage priorities independently
- Strong follow-through, with the ability to close tasks and maintain momentum without being chased
- Right to work in South Africa
- Ability to work UK hours for part of the day
Desirable:
- Experience within venture capital, private equity, investment management, financial services or professional services
- Bookkeeping experience
- Experience with company-secretarial or corporate administration
- Familiarity with investor onboarding, fund administration or KYC/AML processes
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for research, drafting and workflow improvement
