Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Conference and Banqueting Manager in Polokwane, Limpopo, to lead the planning, execution and delivery of all conferences, meetings, banquets and events at our premier hotel and convention center.

You will manage client relationships, develop detailed proposals and ensure profitability while coordinating with F&B, AV and other departments. Hybrid work allows on-site event support with remote planning as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in event management, conference planning or banqueting, preferably in a hotel setting.
• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or Event Management desirable.
• Proven experience managing complex events with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and execution of conference and banqueting events.
• Serve as the main client contact from inquiry through post-event follow-up.
• Develop proposals, floor plans and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Coordinate with F&B, AV and other departments to meet client requirements.
• Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts and ensure profitability.
• Conduct pre-event meetings with clients and internal teams to confirm details.
• Oversee event setup, service delivery and breakdown to maintain high standards.
• Troubleshoot issues during events promptly and effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management.
• Contribute to marketing efforts for conference and banqueting services.
