Job summary

Future Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Estimator for a folding carton packaging role in the North West region of England.

You will produce quotations on a full-time basis using a bespoke estimating system, providing accurate cost estimates for tenders, projects and enquiries in collaboration with sales and production teams. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' estimator experience in packaging, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of print and packaging industries;

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an estimator in packaging.
• Experience with cartons is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials and market dynamics.
• Proficient in estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates

SALARY UP TO £50K (Depending on Experience) + 26 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays
HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE - 37.5 Hours - Option to WFH 2 Days Per Week

Our client is a market leading Folding Carton Manufacturer supplying predominately FMCG packaging. Based in the North West of England our client has an exceptional reputation for their outstanding levels of quality and service.

They are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team. You will be using a bespoke estimating system producing quotations on a full‑time basis. You will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for tenders, projects and enquiries working closely with, sales teams, and production departments to ensure timely and cost‑effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of the print and packaging industries however cartons experience will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates
• Analyse job specifications and recommend the most efficient and cost‑effective production
• Calculate material costs, labour, and time required for each project
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices for materials and services
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and project details
• Update and manage estimating software and tools to ensure current and precise data
• Work closely with the sales team to provide competitive and profitable pricing
• Liaise with the production department to ensure estimates align with production capabilities and timelines
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all areas of the business
• Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
• Provide exceptional customer service/support to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an estimator in the packaging industry, ideally cartons
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and market dynamics
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and results‑oriented with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
