Qualifications

• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 4 years of estate planning, wills, and trusts experience.
• Proven ability to draft wills, set up trusts, and administer deceased estates.
• Strong knowledge of South African estate law and tax implications.
• Excellent client-facing and empathetic communication skills.
• Proficiency with legal software and research tools.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Draft comprehensive and legally sound wills and trust deeds tailored to client needs.
• Assist clients in understanding and managing their financial affairs and asset distribution.
• Guide executors through administering estates, including winding up and distribution.
• Advise on and implement strategies for minimising estate duty and other relevant taxes.
• Represent clients in legal disputes related to estate administration or challenges to wills.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law affecting estate planning and administration.
• Foster strong client relationships built on trust and confidentiality.
