Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 8 years of specialized experience in real estate law.
• Specialized in commercial property transactions including acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development.
• Strong understanding of South African property law, sectional title schemes, and township development.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and client advisory skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with title insurance and resolving complex title issues.
• Familiarity with zoning, land use planning, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of real estate transactions, from initial due diligence to closing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, sale agreements, leases, and other real estate-related contracts.
• Provide expert legal advice on property development, zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct title searches, review title commitments, and resolve title defects.
• Advise clients on financing arrangements, mortgage agreements, and security interests.
• Manage corporate entity structuring for property acquisitions and ownership.
• Liaise with developers, investors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant property laws and regulations in North West province and nationally.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks associated with real estate investments.
• Supervise and mentor junior real estate lawyers and paralegals.
