Job summary

Stefanutti Stocks Inland is seeking an Environmental Officer to lead environmental and construction waste compliance on a major South African project. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining the CEMP and Construction Waste Management Plan, and ensuring daily environmental site inspections and strict regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential.
• A relevant environmental qualification (Degree/ National Diploma or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the CEMP and Construction Waste Management Plan.
• Conduct and record daily environmental site inspections.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, permits and project requirements.
• Identify environmental risks and implement pollution controls.
• Monitor waste segregation, reuse, recycling and disposal.
• Track waste quantities, diversion targets and KPIs.
• Verify approved waste transporters and disposal/recycling facilities.
• Liaise with the Environmental Consultant and escalate significant risks.
