Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Purchasing Clerk in Bloemfontein to support procurement operations. This entry-level role offers exposure to purchase orders, records, and supplier coordination, with a supportive team environment.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in purchasing fundamentals, supply chain processes, and basic supplier communications, while developing accuracy and organizational skills in a dynamic office setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a supply chain/BA certificate is a plus.
• Administrative or clerical experience is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of purchasing principles and inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders accurately.
• Maintain organized records of purchasing transactions, invoices, and supplier communications.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track shipments, resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting delivered goods.
• Help prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
• Provide administrative support to the procurement team.
