Placements24 seeks a Junior Aircraft Stress Analyst in Stellenbosch to contribute to the structural integrity analysis of aircraft components under supervision. You will perform stress calculations, execute FEA, and support testing activities to ensure safety and performance requirements are met.

The role requires a strong academic foundation in mechanical or aerospace engineering, a passion for structural mechanics, and a drive to learn and grow within the aerospace industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a focus on structural mechanics.
• Academic exposure or internship in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural mechanics.
• Familiarity with ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar FEA software.
• Basic understanding of aircraft structures, materials, and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Perform linear and non-linear static stress analysis on aircraft components using FEA.
• Assist in developing and validating structural models and analysis methodologies.
• Interpret results and generate reports highlighting critical stress areas.
• Support load case and boundary condition definitions for structural analysis.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve structural design for weight and performance.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
