Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of a next-generation security infrastructure. You will define enterprise security architecture, ensure robustness and alignment with business goals, and guide security teams in Randburg, Gauteng, on a hybrid work model.

The role requires 8+ years in information security, 4+ in architecture, and expertise across network, cloud, data, and endpoint security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive information security experience, with at least 4 years in a security architecture role.
• Proven experience designing, modeling, and implementing complex security architectures across network, cloud, endpoint, and data domains.
• Deep knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, SIEM, EDR, IAM, encryption) and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, COBIT; strong communication and leadership skills.
• Certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or TOGAF are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise information security architecture across domains.
• Define security standards, guidelines, and best practices for technology implementations.
• Evaluate new security technologies and solutions to improve security posture.
• Develop technical roadmaps aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to embed security in SDLC.
• Provide technical leadership on security architecture principles.
• Review and approve security designs for new projects.
• Maintain security architecture documentation and diagrams.
• Assess threats and propose architectural mitigations.
• Contribute to security incident response planning and post-incident reviews.
