Job summary

Minopex is seeking an experienced mechanical maintenance supervisor for sites in the Rustenburg and Limpopo regions. The role focuses on delivering reliable maintenance services aligned with client requirements, including planning, supervision, and safe task execution.

You will investigate breakdowns, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements while coordinating with engineering and production teams to optimise equipment availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent at NQF 4 with relevant NATED courses (N3) where applicable.
• Section 13 Fitting Trade test / Section 26(D) certificate required.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport to attend callouts.
• Minimum 10 years’ mechanical maintenance experience with 3–4 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns; order spares as needed.
• Analyze breakdowns using root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Supervise subordinates to ensure maintenance standards and procedures.
• Coordinate equipment availability to meet production parameters.
• Analyse equipment efficiency and recommend enhancements to maximise uptime.
• Communicate equipment changes to stakeholders to minimise delays.

Job description

Introduction

These roles are located at various Minopex sites within the Rustenburg and Limpopo regions.

Description

The purpose of this position is to ensure that mechanical maintenance and services are provided in line with organisational and client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements and order spares according to Company procedures.
• Analyse breakdowns through root cause analysis and implement preventative measures on findings.
• Over-inspect subordinates in their daily activities to ensure maintenance according to organisational standards and maintenance requirements.
• Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
• Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implement improvements and changes to maximise operations.
• Communicate equipment information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays.
• Ensure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completion.
• Attend to breakdowns immediately to minimise down time.
• Determine work schedules in conjunction with other Engineering / Process teams to ensure availability and optimise utilisation of equipment to the relevant sections.
• Consult with production teams on maintenance activities that affect production.
• Support the achievement of production and maintenance performance levels.
• Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability.
  

Qualification Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate) where applicable.
• Valid section 13 Fitting Trade test / Section 26(D) certificate required
• Valid driver’s licence code B, EB or C1
• Own transport to attend to call outs
