Job summary

MyCareerCraft in Durban seeks a commercially driven Operations and Sales Manager to lead a regional branch. You will be accountable for growth, profitability, and customer and employee satisfaction.

You will oversee installation and modernisation projects, manage pricing, monitor targets, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while controlling expenses and stock. Regional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Business Management.
• 4–5 years of relevant experience in technical/engineering sales.
• Sales experience in heavy engineering industry.
• Proven leadership and ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
• Results-driven, strategic thinker and planner with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
• Working knowledge of the Labour Relations Act and the OHS Act.
• Advanced MS Office skills; SAP experience advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Drive the sales plan and budget, and ensure a healthy pipeline of bids and conversions.
• Oversee new installation and modernisation projects from sale to handover.
• Approve first-level pricing escalations and ensure discounts align with budget and strategy.
• Monitor targets, analyse root causes of deviations, and implement corrective action.
• Enforce health, safety and quality standards in the branch and on site.
• Control branch expenses, purchasing and stock.
• Manage labour relations in line with South African labour legislation.
• Conduct performance reviews and develop staff, including technicians' technical skills.
• Report on project profitability to senior management.
