A well-established organisation within the engineering and industrial equipment sector is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager: Spares, Services & Reliability to provide technical leadership across spare parts, field services, equipment refurbishment and reliability activities.
The successful candidate will provide technical oversight, lead engineering investigations, support field service operations and ensure that aftermarket products, repairs and engineering solutions meet the required quality, reliability and technical standards.
Act as the technical authority for aftermarket products and services.
Provide engineering support for vibrating screens, feeders, exciters and associated equipment.
Review and approve technical quotations and repair scopes.
Support complex customer technical enquiries and engineering requirements.
Review and approve manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.
Verify compliance with engineering standards and original design requirements.
Support manufacturing teams with technical problem-solving.
Inspect manufactured components and assemblies and verify dimensional compliance.
Provide technical oversight of equipment refurbishment and repair projects.
Lead equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).
Develop corrective actions and reliability improvement recommendations.
Prepare technical reports for customers and management.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to Field Service teams.
Develop and maintain field service methodologies and technical standards.
Review service reports and technical findings.
Conduct site inspections, customer visits, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
Develop engineering solutions aimed at reducing downtime and improving equipment performance.
Support customer maintenance planning and reliability improvement initiatives.
Provide technical support to Sales and Commercial teams, including technical evaluations, maintenance budgeting, life-cycle costing and upgrade recommendations.
Identify opportunities for equipment improvements, design enhancements and product development.
Provide technical mentoring and contribute to engineering training initiatives.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Extensive experience in a mechanical engineering environment.
Experience within mining, heavy engineering, industrial equipment or a similar environment will be advantageous.
Proven experience with mechanical equipment, preferably including vibrating screens, feeders, exciters or similar equipment.
Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, failure investigation and root cause analysis.
Experience with engineering drawings, technical specifications and design verification.
Experience in equipment refurbishment, repairs, maintenance or aftermarket engineering.
Previous field service and customer-facing technical experience.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong technical report-writing and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to customer and operational sites when required.
