Job summary

OutsideCapital is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance in a large-scale manufacturing setting in Johannesburg. You will drive plant reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement while ensuring effective resource use and the development of the engineering team.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets, coordinate capital projects, and guide SAP Plant Maintenance adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• GCC is mandatory.
• 10+ years in engineering within manufacturing.
• Strong project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets to meet targets.
• Coordinate capital projects, maintenance, and equipment replacement.
• Drive reliability, efficiency, and maintenance practices.
• Lead SAP Plant Maintenance implementation and usage.
• Monitor sustainability targets for water, coal and electricity.
• Lead continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives.
• Develop long-term engineering plans and asset replacement strategies.
• Lead engineering and maintenance teams and mentor staff.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
