Job summary

Square 1 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Randburg, South Africa, for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and shape technical excellence.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, ensuring priorities are clear and deadlines are met across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Mechatronics Engineering (preferred).
• Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical engineering degrees also considered with strong multidisciplinary experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading an engineering department or multidisciplinary team.
• Strong background in project engineering, design engineering and technical solution development.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects (mechanical, electrical, automation) in mining/heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience supporting technical sales, costing, supplier engagement and customer solutions.
• Experience in ISO-controlled engineering environments.
• Exposure to new product development and bespoke engineering solutions is advantageous.

We\'re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you\'ll provide both strategic and hands-on leadership, ensuring technical excellence while creating a collaborative, motivated and accountable team culture. This is a role for a technically credible leader who enjoys balancing engineering detail with people leadership, project delivery and continuous improvement.

With multiple engineering projects running simultaneously each month, you\'ll be responsible for ensuring priorities are clear, deadlines are achieved and your team has the support and direction needed to consistently deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

What You\'ll Be Responsible For

Requirements

Qualifying Criteria:

• BEng/BSc in Mechatronics Engineering (preferred)
