Job summary

GLI in Midrand, South Africa seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a skilled team in testing and certification for gaming devices and systems. You will guide project execution, ensure accuracy, and drive timely results in a global testing environment.

You will influence operational direction, mentor staff, and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality and compliance while growing client relationships and efficiency across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline is required.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a Test Engineer.
• Must have at least one (1) year of experience as a Senior Engineer or equivalent role.
• Previous supervisory/management experience is strongly preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the primary contact between clients, providing guidance and communicating with manufacturers on results, deficiencies, and corrections required.
• Develops new business clients and consults on regulation development.
• Develops operations processes and procedures to enhance efficiencies in the Department.
• Educates all staff of the Department’s process as it relates to their position.
• Manages Delivery Department personnel, including interviewing, selection, training, motivation, and performance evaluations.
• Sets clear goals by communicating job expectations and providing feedback to employees.
• Provides resources, training, and support to complete work assignments.
• Documents employee performance and reports workload to upper management.
• Performs field inspection tasks to support inspection activities.
