Job summary

Rubicon in South Africa seeks a proactive Junior Service Technician to provide technical and administrative support to senior technicians and sales consultants in after-sales service. The role develops practical capability through supervised troubleshooting, site support, commissioning and warranty administration.

Ideal candidates hold a matric or NQF Level 4, with a basic electrical qualification preferred, and at least two years in technical support or electrical work; a valid driver’s licence

Qualifications

• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent is required.
• Basic electrical qualification or relevant technical diploma is advantageous.
• At least two years in technical support, electrical work, renewable energy or backup-power systems.
• Valid driver's licence and basic computer literacy.
• Proactive, safety-conscious with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer technical queries and escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineers.
• Accompany senior technicians on local site visits and assist with inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Assist with the commissioning and testing of new and upgraded energy systems under supervision.
• Support the troubleshooting of energy-system faults and document findings accurately.
• Assist with warranty claims and follow up on required technical information.
• Record technical issues, actions taken and resolutions on the CRM.
