Job summary

LONGi Energy Storage in Cape Town seeks a senior sales/business development professional to lead front-end activities in the local energy storage market, identify opportunities, and form partnerships with local stakeholders to expand market reach.

You will conduct market research, analyze trends and policies, and manage relationships with IPPs, EPCs, governments, and grid operators, driving project development from opportunity to signing.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Minimum 5 years in sales or business development within the energy sector; experience in energy storage, IPP, EPC, or energy equipment companies preferred.
• Familiarity with local energy policies, power market regulations, and energy storage value chain; deep understanding of local market demand and project operation models.
• Proactive, market-sensitive, strong problem-solving ability, able to work independently under pressure, with excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end business development in the local energy storage market and proactively identify new opportunities, including energy storage projects and partnerships.
• Conduct in-depth market research and analysis of trends, policies, and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, including IPPs, EPC contractors, local governments, and power grid companies; drive project cooperation.
• Manage the full project development process from opportunity identification to contract signing and ensure timely execution.
• Coordinate internal resources (technical, product, legal, etc.) to support client communication and project execution and resolve issues during development.
