Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Energy Project Manager to oversee planning, execution and delivery of diverse energy initiatives in Centurion and surrounding areas. The role combines on-site oversight with remote coordination, demanding strong leadership and organizational skills to drive projects from feasibility through handover.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in engineering or related field, with 7+ years in energy project management; PMI/Prince2/PMP credentials are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in energy/infra.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale energy projects.
• PMI/Prince2 certifications or PMP preferred.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Energy Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of diverse energy projects in Centurion and surrounding areas. This hybrid role involves a balance of on-site project oversight and remote coordination, requiring strong leadership and organizational skills. You will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial conception and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a critical position that directly impacts our client's capacity to develop and implement cutting-edge energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, throughout the project lifecycle.


• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.


• Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management.


• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies effectively.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.


• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and managing expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


• A Master's degree is advantageous.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, specifically within the energy sector (renewables, utilities, or infrastructure).


• Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale energy projects from initiation to completion.


• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2) and PMP certification is highly desirable.


• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.


• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work model , effectively balancing remote and on-site responsibilities in Centurion .
