Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant for a contract role focused on advisory and security posture enhancement in Upington, Northern Cape. You'll lead risk assessments, develop strategic roadmaps, and advise on controls across IT/OT environments.

You will apply ISO 27001/NIST standards, guide threat modeling and incident response, and drive governance and compliance programs for a renewable energy client with a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, IT or related field.
• 8+ years' cybersecurity consulting experience.
• Experience securing critical infrastructure, energy sector preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform cybersecurity risk assessments for IT/OT environments.
• Develop strategic roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Advise on security controls aligned with ISO 27001/NIST.
• Guide threat intelligence, vulnerability management and IR planning.
• Support policy, governance and compliance efforts.
• Deliver executive-level risk reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to embed security into projects.
