Placements24 is seeking an Employment Law Advisor to join its HR and Legal teams in Paarl, South Africa. The role provides expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law to managers and staff, handling disciplinary processes, grievances, retrenchments, contracts, and compliance with labor legislation.

The ideal candidate is an admitted attorney with at least four years’ experience in employment law, strong knowledge of SA labour legislation, and proven ability to advise on complex disputes

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or Legal Practitioner with at least 4 years of experience specializing in employment law.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation and case law.
• Proven experience in advising on complex employment-related disputes and investigations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employment law matters, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and disputes.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Assist with retrenchment processes and organizational restructuring from a legal perspective.
• Conduct legal training for HR personnel and line managers on employment law compliance.
• Represent the company in CCMA or bargaining council disputes.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Employment Law Advisor to join their Human Resources and Legal teams in Paarl . This role involves providing expert legal advice and support on all aspects of employment law to managers and employees across the organization. You will handle matters such as disciplinary processes, grievances, retrenchments, employment contracts, and compliance with labor legislation.
