Job summary

The Recruitment Pig in Johannesburg is looking for a skilled Electronics Technician to perform low‑voltage PCB diagnostics and repairs. You will test and repair boards to component level, using DMMs, oscilloscopes and bench tools, including precision SMD soldering.

Strong fault‑finding across analogue and digital circuits is required. You will work on internal power supplies and control boards across varied equipment, with a focus on quality checks and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• T4, National N Diploma (N4–N6), or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering.
• At least three years of proven hands-on bench experience repairing electronic circuit boards.
• Strong component-level fault-finding skills across low-voltage analogue and digital circuitry.
• Practical experience in precision micro-soldering, SMD rework, and track repairs.
• Good skill in tracing electronic circuit schematics and board wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Test and repair low-voltage electronic circuit boards down to the individual component level.
• Find circuit faults using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and standard bench diagnostic tools.
• Solder and desolder sensitive surface-mount devices (SMD) and through-hole parts cleanly.
• Read and follow circuit diagrams to isolate damaged components quickly and accurately.
• Repair internal power supplies, analog circuits, and digital control boards across diverse equipment.
• Test all repaired electronic boards thoroughly before final assembly and quality checks.
• Keep tidy workshop records of all component replacements and completed repair jobs.
