Job summary

Skills Connector in Pretoria is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems, machinery and equipment across the plant, supporting production uptime, quality, and safety, and collaborating with engineers and operators to optimise electrical systems.

You will read electrical schematics, perform fault finding and diagnostics, carry out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance, and test systems with multimeters and Meggers.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems, machinery and equipment
• Perform fault finding and diagnostics on electrical breakdowns and failures
• Carry out planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Test electrical systems using appropriate tools and instruments
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and legal regulations
• Assist with commissioning of new equipment and modifications
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and job cards on CMMS
• Competent on the use of measuring instruments such as multimeters & Meggers
• Adhere to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards
• Conduct risk assessments and follow lock out/tag out procedures
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained properly
• Ensure factory compliance of electrical systems adhering to SANS 10142 - 1
