Job summary

You will diagnose faults, conduct tests, complete job cards and reports, respond to breakdowns, assist with commissioning, and collaborate with supervisors and other trades to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical installations.

• Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective solutions.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Install and terminate cables, control panels, motors, transformers, and switchgear.

• Conduct electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

• Ensure all work complies with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and electrical codes.

• Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and inspection documentation accurately.

• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.

• Perform fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment where applicable.

• Assist with commissioning new electrical installations and equipment.

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and testing instruments.

• Maintain high housekeeping standards within work areas.

• Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to complete maintenance projects efficiently.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
